The Best Damn Tour is coming to DVD! For those of you who missed it or were there and want to see it again, Avril Lavigne will be releasing a 75-minute DVD on August 1, 2008, called The Best Damn Tour (Live in Toronto). The DVD is a recording of her Best Damn Tour concert in Toronto, Canada from earlier this year.

We’ll be having a contest to send a free copy to the winner, so stay tuned to Avril Groupie all throughout the summer for more details!

The Jonas Brothers posted this blog about their Burning Up Tour in Dusseldorf, Germany. The boys are, of course, touring with Avril Lavigne on her own Best Damn Tour. Check out what they had to say:

Hey everyone!

We had an amazing concert in Dusseldorf, Germany yesterday. The crowd was amazing.

We drove 2-3 hours and now we are in Amsterdam. It is a beautiful city. Today was a DAY OFF in Amsterdam. We went for a long walk with our family and saw a lot of the sights. There were so many people out shopping because it was a beautiful day.

It is 1 day from the premiere of CAMP ROCK and our new video BURNIN’ UP! It is hard to believe that 2 of the things we have worked so hard on will be out there for all of you to hear and see tomorrow. We really hope you like it. Please let us know!

Also, we wanted to let you know that the concerts in Anaheim, Ca on July 13th and 14th will be filmed for our upcoming 3D Movie. We will also be filming some stuff at the show at Irvine, CA on July 12th. We really are excited about this and hope that as many as possible will come out to be a part of the event. Who knows??? Maybe you will find yourself in our 3D movie.

Avril Lavigne is being featured on Girl Talk’s latest album, Feed the Animals.  The album is available online & follows the same standard set by Radiohead’s In Rainbows, which came out last fall: fans can pay whatever they’d like to pay in order to download it.   Other artists on the album are Lil Wayne, Lil Jon,  Rod Steward, Blackstreet, Procol Harum, Ace of Base, Kanye West, the Band, and the theme from Dawson’s Creek.

Wow, that’s a pretty random mix of artists, huh?  Avril Lavigne, Kanye West, and Rod Steward?!  Okay…

It was canceled without much fanfare (in United States news, at least) but Avril Lavigne canceled her concert in Barcelona, Spain.  This time, it wasn’t due to acute laryngitis, but because of a truckers’ strike!  Major roads in the city were blocked off as a part of a protest against high gas prices (wouldn’t we ALL like to protest THOSE!!).  This prevented Avril from being able to actually get to the venue.  Yikes!  High gas prices are even ruining concerts now!
