What was Ben Affleck doing during the crazy Bennifer days? Writing a script, that’s what. He began the script for Gone, Baby, Gone based on the novel by Dennis Lehane, and originally thought it might be a good fit for Jennifer Lopez.

I can see Jen in this movie, can’t you? Instead of casting Jen (since it’s kinda awkward to cast your ex-girlfriend) he cast his brother in the title role and decided to direct. I think that was a smart choice for him.

There’s a very interesting article about Ben in the Chester Chronicle, and one of the things it mentions is that Ben is fluent in Spanish and French. Wonder if he ever talked in Spanish with Jen? Or French? Ooo la la.

Ben has made some horrible movie choices since the breakup of Bennifer, so hopefully this film will help bring him back the respect he craves.

So the baby bidding war continues.

First it was Christina Aguilera who received $1.5 million for the first picture of her son, Max.

Then J-Lo got $6 million for photos of her twins, Max and Emme.

Now Angelina Jolie is being offered $15 million for photos of her twins.

Apparently there’s a bidding war between People and OK!. And that’s just for now. Will it go higher?

It could, especially given the fact that everyone is dying to see the new babies who will undoubtedly be as cute as little Shiloh.

I’ve written about this subject in the past, and I’m pretty neutral on celebs getting money for baby photos. But I can’t imagine that news organizations like People and OK! will really make any money on the deal if they are doling out such a large amount. I think like all trends, this one will probably fade away.

Besides being busy with the “nightshift” in watching the twins, Marc Anthony is recording three studio albums. Billboard reports that he’s working with Billy Joel and Babyface to make a pop album. He’s also recording an album full of Spanish ballads and a “tropical” album.

They’re all coming out at the end of the year. Looks like J-Lo isn’t the only workaholic in the family!

Ben Affleck is starring in the upcoming movie, He’s Just Not That Into You, and since Ben is an old flame of J-Lo’s I thought: Why not do a giveaway?

The book, He’s Just Not That Into You, was written by Liz Tuccillo and Greg Behrendt. Behrendt was a consultant on Sex in the City (the show), and helped write the “He’s Just Not That Into You” episode.

Remember that one? Miranda wonders if a guy she met will call her and Burger (the guy that dumped Carrie with the Sorry, I Can’t, Don’t Hate Me post it) tells her straight out that if he hasn’t called he’s not going to because he’s just not that into her.

The episode was very well received, and never one to miss out on an opportunity, Behrendt wrote He’s Just Not That Into You.

The book was a best seller, and now they’re in the midst of making it a movie. Jen’s ex Ben Affleck is one of its stars, along with Ginnifer Goodwin, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Connelly, Justin Long…. whew…. I’m getting tired of listing these stars!

Needless to say the movie is much anticipated. Here’s a video clip from the trailer:

There’s an interesting interview Ben Affleck did recently with the Mirror. In the interview he talks about fatherhood, his wild drinking days, and failed relationships.

He’s talked a lot about the whole “Bennifer” saga of late. I think he’s been reflecting on his life lately, and the choices he’s made. That’s natural for a guy in his 30s, but I think one thing that’s prompting him to do it is his stalled acting career. If his professional life would have gone fine after his break up with Jen, he might not have thought twice about it.

Like many couples, I think both Jen and Ben knew right from the start that their relationship wasn’t meant for the long haul. Ben says:

I really think you know ahead of time when you make mistakes in relationships, but you tell yourself, ‘No, I’ll be OK.’ It’s because you don’t want to face it. You’re only ready to admit it when the relationship becomes untenable and you have to get out of it.

When Jen started dating Ben, she was still married to Cris Judd. There were problems in their marriage but she didn’t allow enough time to pass before starting up with Ben. If she had, she would have realized a lot sooner that Ben wasn’t the right guy for her.

Ben, for his part, was still into partying and gambling. He’d been through rehab and quit drinking (supposedly), but he was spending a lot of time at casinos and strip clubs, and that’s no way for a man that wants to settle down to act.

Thankfully, both Ben and Jen have now found true love and the happiness of family life. Just goes to show that if you have the courage to let go of the wrong person, you may just find the right one.

Jennifer Lopez got a night away from Max and Emme Saturday night when she attended a housewarming party at Tom Cruise’s house. (She’s pictured above getting into the car that left the party.)

This was no ordinary housewarming party, however. Apparently Victoria Beckham, Eva Longoria, Brooke Shields, Jeremy Piven, and Rita Wilson were there, too. Know who else?

Oprah. Yep, the two must have made nice after the couch jumping incident.

Tom and Katie bought a $35 million dollar mansion and then stuck more money into it over the last year. Their big housewarming shindig ended at about 1:00 a.m.

So I’m wondering, where was Marc? We know his “shift” with the kids is 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. so apparently he couldn’t come out and play with Jen.

We know that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have not hired a nanny to help them out with their twins, so it should come as no surprise that J-Lo expects Marc to help her out with kid duties.

In a call to The Billy Bush Show Marc said “It’s just us man. We’re figuring it out and having a great time.”

He also told Billy Max and Emme were “big and gorgeous” and that J-Lo expects him to hlp out. ““She expects me to help and she makes no bones about it,” Marc said. “I get the late shift. I get literally from 10 PM because we don’t have a nanny. It’s just me and Jennifer figuring it out. From 10 PM to 8 [AM], that’s my shift.”

He also said Jen has been working out again, and that she has three movies lined up. “She’s eager to go back to work, but the babies have been a blessing all the way around and she’s just amazing. She’s such an amazing mom and I’m so proud of her. She’s such a gem to watch.”

Jennifer Lopez’s ex, Ojani Noa looks to have moved on from his marriage (and divorce) to J-Lo. If you’ll remember, they were married less than a year, then she tried to stay friends and be nice to him and he was a dorkus and wanted to write a book describing their sex life. She gave him a job managing her restaurant, and he in turn acted like a jerk and got canned.

Nice guy.

Well now it looks like he’s dating one of the Deal or No Deal girls, Leyla Milani. (She’s the one in the red top, and she’s usually blonde on the show and carries suitcase #13. She also has had the $1,000,000 suitcase quite a few times so if you ever get on the show, don’t choose her!)
