Have you checked out the People Mag with details on Ashlee Simpson and Pete’s Wedding? Well I did. (Of course!) Ashlee looked beautiful and even her dad “Papa Joe” looked a bit choked up. At one point Ashlee and Jessica posed together, and it was very interesting because Jessica is clearly putting her hand on Ashlee’s belly. Ashlee looks like she has a baby bump (in the wedding dress at least) so it was an interesting wedding picture because this was before Ashlee had announced her pregnancy.

Ashlee is quoted in People as saying, “Everyone was calling me Bridechilla because I was superchill. But before we went out, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I have my butterflies now!’ And then we all started crying.”

They also had a photo booth for guests to pop in, which was a very cute idea. Their cake was a madhatter type deal with three flavors. It was clock and teapot shaped with red velvet, chocolate candy bar, and vanilla pound cake with raspberry filling.

For the wedding night, Pete planned a surprise for Ashlee that included a safari tent set up on the hill behind the Simpson estate. This was no ordinary tent, however, it had a chandelier, pillowcases with the couple’s initials, and ingredients for s’mores. Awww. That Pete is pretty romantic.

His wedding gift to Ashlee was a giant bumblebee made out of Legos. I kid you not. He hired this guy:

Nathan Sawaya (who is a Lego artist, apparently) to make the bee. It’s 26 inches by 47 inches by 36 inches and is made from about 18,000 Legos.

But why a bee?

According to Splash News:

“In Hindu myth, Kama, the god of love, has a bow and arrows, and the bow string is made up of bees. In the ancient Greek world the bee symbolized the soul because they migrated in swarms. And the Roman god of love, Cupid, is often pictured with bees or being stung.”

The artist said, “I made this bee for a boy who wanted to give his girl a special wedding gift. “They are a fun couple as evidenced by their Alice in Wonderland themed wedding.”

You can say that again.

There are also pictures of Jessica and Tony Romo, which are a bit over the top, making me think they were together for the sake of the wedding but are still working things out. They’re out on the dance floor, and Jessica is rubbing her butt against Tony’s crotch, and holding her mouth open like she’s a sex kitten. He, at least, looks more natural: a combination of giggly embarassment and nervousness.

The end of the article speculates about Ashlee’s pregnancy, which is funny because it’s obvious she is in at least one of the pictures. Still, it has a lot of great photos that I’m not able to show you, so be sure to check it out.

We’ve been waiting on pins and needles for this one. Jessica Simpson’s first country single, “Come On Over” has been released. I originally found a video with the single on it, but this morning noticed it had been pulled.

Hmmm, I thought, is that because it stinks? I did some research and found that all the major news organizations had the same video and it was also pulled.

But fear not, Jess and Ashlee readers! You might not be able to see the video (yet) but you can listen to the single here. Click the red “Play Song” box next to Jessica’s purdy face. Take a listen and come on back here.

Done? What did you think? They’ve condensed the better part to be played on that spot you just listened to. When I first heard the entire single, it starts out very warbly and slow, and definitely does not showcase Jessica’s voice. It sounds like any run of the mill singer is squeaking out the notes.

Still, it’s catchy enough. It could be a hit just because so many people are curious about it. What do you think? Does Jessica have the staying power to make it as a country singer?

Jessica Simpson was asked the BIG QUESTION the other night during her outing in Vegas, which is “Will Ashlee be a good mother?”

Now, WHO exactly has the balls to ask that of someone’s sister? I mean, REALLY. What is she supposed to say? No?

Of course not.

Anyways, in typical Jessica form, she answered the question, then turned the focus back to herself. (Much like she did during the toast at Ashlee’s wedding.)

Jessica said, “She’ll be amazing, absolutely amazing,” as a mother.

That would have been fine if she’d have left it at that. Instead, she turned the tables to her own music, saying that Pete and Ash were “the cutest couple” and that “Just being around them inspires love and everything I sing about.”

Is it possible for Jessica just to say, “I’m totally happy for my sister with her new hubby and family. She deserves every happiness.”

Instead Jess makes sure she talks about herself, even in her sister’s moment of attention. Is it possible for Jess to be happy for Ashlee without trying to outdo her?

Jessica Simpson attended the opening of the Palms Place Hotel and Spa in Vegas on Saturday along with her sister Ashlee and new brother-in-law Pete Wentz. I commented in the last post that Ashlee’s outfit was pretty horrible, but I’m not sure Jessica’s is much better.

The dress is okay, but it looks ill-fitted to her. It doesn’t flatter her figure or look comfortable, for that matter. And the earrings are like something my grandma would have worn thirty years ago.

On the plus side, I do like her hair and makeup better than Ashlee’s. Jess always looks nice with her hair up and at least she went without the horrible lipstick that her sister had on.

I’ve no doubt Ashlee Simpson will look very cute as her baby bump gets bigger, although I can’t say I love this look she sported at the Palms Place Hotel and Spa Grand Opening in Vegas this past Saturday. The earrings, the hair, the too-redish pink lipstick… and those shoes! Sheesh.

The gobs of makeup she has on takes away from her pretty face. And I don’t know WHAT she was thinking with that hair. Jessica’s BFF Ken Paves must not have been around because I can’t imagine he’d let Ashlee out on the street like that!

I don’t love the shoes with this getup either. Maybe on another outfit, but it doesn’t work with this dress.

On the plus side, the dress is very cute and her and Pete look so happy. And happiness is the best fashion accessory, right?

So, we kinda figured this was coming, right? Ashlee Simpson-Wentz canceling her planned tour for Bittersweet World.

I mean, the girl can’t be jumping all over the place while on tour!

Wait… J-Lo did it. And she was pregnant with twins. Hmmm.

Still, I don’t blame Ashlee for wanting to focus on her family life right now.

And by the way, did you see the new name? Yep, Ashlee is taking Pete’s last name. One source quotes Ash as saying, “I think that’s something that a woman should do when they’re marrying a man.”

It doesn’t surprise me that Ashlee is taking Pete’s name. When all is said and done, I think both her and Jess are traditional gals and they want a traditional (and somewhat old-fashioned) life.

Ashlee Simpson loves to get herself some nakedness. She must.

She tells one source that she once crashed a party she sister was having naked. She said, “I used to wind my sister Jessica up. Once, when I was small, Jessica had all her friends round and I burst into the room naked.”

This is when they were much younger, of course.

Then again, Ashlee flashed her birthday suit at Pete Wentz the first time they met, too. She said, “I lifted my dress over my head and it was love at first sight.”

Well…. it must have worked. Ashlee and Pete are married now, and enjoying themselves. Here they were at a Memorial Day party over the weekend. Do you like Pete’s homemade mask? He has such a great sense of humor - no wonder Ashlee is so happy.

Ashlee Simpson loves to sing, but when her songs come at a club she says it gets a little weird. “Everybody stares at me like I’m supposed to dance or something,” she told CosmoGIRL!

We can imagine, Ash.

Ashlee’s latest album, Bittersweet World was released last month and peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 it’s first week. According to one source, her “tracks have logged more than 19 million plays on her MySpace page.”

Think Jessica Simpson called up Jennifer Aniston to warn her about John Mayer?

Me neither.

But one source says that’s the case. They claim that Jessica is jealous of the romance and also warned Jen that John is a “ladies man.”

I don’t doubt that Jess is a little bummed that John has moved on to Jen. But I seriously doubt that Jess would call up Jen and actually tell her to watch her back. She may have said it to her girlfriends, but not to Jen directly.

Although John Mayer is seriously getting a reputation as a ladies man. A friend of John’s says, “He’ll spend every waking minute talking to someone and spending time with them and then move on to the next girl,” said the friend.

I think all in all Jessica is probably very happy that John is out of her life.
