For the most part, Nicole Richie seems happy, strong and healthy lately, which is why silly rumors like this one bother me so much. The National Enquirer is claiming that Nicole is on the verge of a motherhood meltdown and that the stress of all the changes she’s experienced lately has put her on the verge of a breakdown.
“The slightest bit of stress turns into a huge emotional ordeal,” their source says. “Joel is trying to be patient with Nicole even though her meltdowns often do end in arguments. But he understands she’s gone through some very serious emotional and physical changes — she got pregnant, found sobriety, moved in with Joel and became a mother — all in a very short time, and that’s a lot for anyone to handle.”
I don’t doubt that these changes have been difficult and that Nicole gets emotional sometimes and that her and Joel fight sometimes, but why do the gossip sites need to paint these scenarios as end-of-the-world fiascos?
“Nicole feels like her life is in a constant state of emotional turmoil right now, and when one crying episode ends, another one seems to begin,” their source continues. “Everything is happening so quickly that it’s almost getting to be too much for her to handle.”
However, the source says there’s nothing to worry about–Joel and Nicole are very much in love and are looking forward to a long future together. And I bet they’re so thankful they have friends like this source.
On another gossipy note, Star Magazine is reporting that Nicole and Joel are planning a three day wedding that will cost over $2 million dollars. It’s supposed to be June 27-29 and will include a Pretty in Pink-themes bachelorette party for Nicole.

Nicole Richie stopped by the MTV Studios in Santa Monica yesterday. She was all smiles for the paparazzi in the parking lot. She looked great in her ever-present leather jacket and grey sundress.
No one seems to know why she stopped by the studio, but the speculation seems to be that she was talking about returning to reality television. While I’d love to see that happen, I can’t help but think that’s not true. Nicole’s life is pretty settled right now, and I don’t think raising a baby will bring in many of the MTV audience. Unless Nicole is planning on raising a dysfunctional daughter. Or maybe it will focus on her return to work or her music career or building her fashion lines.

Nicole also had her weekly alcohol education class today and was spotted arriving at the school earlier this morning. Her mood looked to be much less happy!

Fab Sugar, the awesome fashion and celeb site, was lucky enough to briefly chat with our girl Nicole Richie today. Nicole spoke about her recent fundraiser for the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation, her maternity line, her jewelry line and about her own personal style.
Nicole may be a fashion icon, but she doesn’t consider herself very cool.
“I feel like I wear the same thing every day,” she says in the interview. “I just accessorize differently and wear whatever I’m comfortable in. Like, when I’m with the baby I wear flats and when I’m not I wear heels. It just depends on what mood I’m in.”
Nicole is so fabulously nonchalant and honest in interviews and this one is no exception.

InSyle.com launched a new Nicole Richie gallery on Friday. It has a lot of my favorite pictures from events over the past year, before, during and after her pregnancy.
Nicole’s style has really blossomed over the past few years. It’s great to see how far she’s come, professionally, personally and fashionably. Which event outfit is your favorite in the gallery? Mine is this one! I like the more casual Nicole better, but she does know how to get glam when she needs to!

Last night, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden hosted a fundraiser for their organization, the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation. Nicole looked stunning in a black pantsuit and with her hair pulled back. I don’t think Joel attended the event.
The fundraiser was to benefit The Children’s Health Fund. The event was held at the Cusp Boutique in Los Angeles

Joel Madden was DJing at Kari Feinstein’s Style Lounge as part of the MTV Movie Awards festivities when E! Online asked him if he was planning on seeing Sex and the City with Nicole Richie.
Joel’s usually into movies like Chronicles of Narnia and Ironman, but the couple trades off when it comes to choosing movies.
“Of course I’ll go with her!” he said. “She goes with me to all of my movies, so no problem. We do 50/50; I pick one and then she picks one.”
Sounds like a fair plan to me! Are you planning on seeing the Sex and the City movie?

This rumor seems sketchy, only because Star Magazine is the only source reporting it, but I still hope it’s true!
According to the magazine, Nicole Richie is in talks to appear on the CW show Gossip Girl.
“Nicole’s life has settled down a bit after having her daughter Harlow, she’s eager to get back to work. She’s keen on pursuing an acting career and she loves Gossip Girl,” a source told the magazine.
Nicole is eager to get her career back on track and I think Gossip Girl would be a great start. It’s a fun, frothy show and I bet Nicole could even play herself somehow if she wanted to.
They’ve already had Michelle Tractenberg on to play “bad girl” Georgina Sparks, what sort of role could Nicole take on? Someone’s bad older sister? Or should she go the good girl route?
