While the trailer (below) is certainly impressive, I am not that excited about this movie, especially since the first one (with Eric Bana and Ang Lee as the director) was SO horribly bad. I don’t hold out a lot of hope for this one, but I’ll probably Netflix it. No WAY am I going to pay $10 to go see it in the theater!

Jon Voight, estranged father of Angelina Jolie, recently spoke to OK! magazine about how he would love to meet his new grandchildren. In fact, he hasn’t actually met ANY of Brad and Angelina’s children, which I find incredibly sad. Surely whatever they are fighting about can be put aside at this point in time? After all, he’s not a young man anymore. Here’s what he had to say:

Have you ever taken care of baby twins? It’s a deal, isn’t it? It’s a huge deal. You’ve just got two kids and if one starts crying then you [start] taking that one and then the other one — oh boy, you have to be young and strong to take care of twins. Right now I just want those babies to be healthy and for the mommy to be healthy.

The latest quote from Angelina Jolie on the rift? She would like to try to be friends with her dad:

“We are going to try to get to know each other and maybe try not to be this daddy and daughter, but to be there for each other as friends in the coming years.”

Apparently back in her Goth days, he said that she was “emotionally disturbed”, which she obviously kind of WAS, so I don’t see the big deal. Life is too short to be mad at people!

News today that Kelsey Grammer, star of “Cheers”, “Frasier”, and many others, has had a mild heart attack.

The story is that he was paddle boarding with wife Camille, came back home, and started having some issues. He was immediately taken to a local area hospital where it was determined that yes, he was indeed having a heart attack. Scary!

Kelsey is now resting comfortably and will probably return home later this week. It’s a good thing that they caught it so soon; sometimes people will ignore their symptoms because they don’t want to bother anyone, which obviously doesn’t make much sense, but there it is.

Patrick Swayze has issued an official statement to let us all know how he’s responding to pancreatic cancer treatment:

“Thought I’d give you guys a little update. Lisa and I have been back and forth from New Mexico enjoying the arrival of spring and new baby calves. This past weekend, we spent a fun time with friends in Reno for Lisa’s birthday, where I took her jewelry shopping at Kenny G & Company and (we) were able to find her something really special and much deserved! In the meantime, I am continuing treatment at Stanford and the great news is I continue to respond well.”

I’m glad to hear that he’s keeping his spirits so high; I’m sure it helps to have his wife of 33 years by his side!

Christian Bale, who is currently promoting his new movie “The Dark Knight”, sat down to talk about working with Heath Ledger. Here’s what he had to say:

He was incredibly intense in his performance but incredibly mellow and laid-back. Certainly there was this great anarchistic streak to it–just getting dirtier than anybody’s envisioned the Joker before. This character has power because he has no limits–absolutely nothing to lose.

Actor Patrick Swayze renewed his vows with his wife of 33 years Lisa Niemi this weekend in front of a small group of family and friends at their New Mexico ranch.

Patrick was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January and is reportedly responding well to treatment; however, he’s getting all his affairs in order and making sure everything is up to date, just in case. Which actually isn’t a bad idea no matter where you are in life, honestly!

He also caught a Lakers play-off game last night, and by all reports was looking thin, but healthy. Hopefully he is getting what he needs to get better; pancreatic cancer is supposedly a very aggressive cancer.

Andy Samberg is a relatively new name in comedy; having been on Saturday Night Live now for three seasons he’s starting to make quite a name for himself. He’s part of a comedy troupe called “Lonely Island”, is booked on SNL for hopefully a long time, was the lead character in “Hot Rod“, and guest stars in quite a few comedic shows. Rumors are flying that Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder are a couple. I actually think this might work, except doesn’t Keanu know that I’m his girlfriend ALREADY? Huh.

Anyway, they are filming a project titled “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee”, which is about this: After her much older husband forces a move to a suburban retirement community, Pippa Lee engages in a period of reflection and finds herself heading toward a quiet nervous breakdown. Nervous breakdowns are always prime fodder for Oscar noms, so I’m guessing that is what Winona is going for here. Apparently, the on-set source is reporting that they spend a lot of time in each other’s trailers and hug a lot. Well, maybe they’re just in a mad crazy competitive game of Parcheesi. Or not. What do you think?

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is headed to rehab today.

He’s apparently getting help for substance abuse. Steven’s no stranger to rehab; he’s been in and out at least four separate times. Here’s an interesting quote from Tyler talking about his drug issues:

I was just so selfish and one-sided. I would crawl into a little hole with whatever drug I was doing, and that’s how I lived. It was OK to be drinking away my life. The manager would come backstage and say, “Fine. Drink all you want. Just go onstage.” That was great for an alcoholic to hear. It was the perfect place to be. Liquor flowed backstage. Someone would say, “Give him what he wants from the bar.”

I don’t blame them, and I don’t blame myself. Four rehabilitation centers for drug abuse later, I’ve been able to take a long, hard look at my behavior. - source

Well, best of luck to him, and I hope he gets the help he needs.
