Jon Favreau, director of the upcoming “Iron Man” movie answered questions at the WonderCon Conference in San Francisco last Saturday. Here’s the rundown:
1. On Ozzy’s song “Iron Man”: Jon received Sharon Osbourne’s blessing to use the song.
2. On casting Robert Downey, Jr.: It was a struggle, but the initial fan reaction got Paramount and Marvel on board.
3. Jet Boots: Favreau offered an exclusive clip that showed Tony Stark testing out the jet boots in his garage. At first he goes crashing into the wall and then gets it right, claiming; “Yeah, I can fly.”
4. Next Steps. Favreau is heading up to Skywalker Ranch for the next couple of weeks for more post-production work.
5. Next Steps II: He hopes to make Avengers, and might get the chance if “Iron Man” does well.
6. On rumors of a Hulk/Iron Man crossover: “It’s true there are rumors on the Internet. I don’t want to give secrets away, many rumors are true and many rumors are not. People are figuring out the whole movie and I want to keep mystery.”
